VAPORESSO TAROT NANO INTRO Vaporesso has been on a roll as of late, churning out mod after mod that give you a lot for your money. One of their recent releases is the mighty Tarot Nano 80W TC. Don't let its diminutive size put you off, because this little device can churn out 80 watts of power and has temperature control to boot. Oh, and it looks good too. Let’s take a closer look… PACKAGING & DESIGN Inside the box you’ll find the mod itself, a Veco Tank (with EUC coil installed), a spare glass tube, a micro USB cable, and a spare Clapton 0.3 ohm EUC coil. Appearance-wise, the Tarot Nano looks a lot like a miniaturized Tarot Pro 160W, but with the 510 connector centered. There's an LED screen on one side with the fire button on top - works kinda well. The adjustment buttons are just below the screen with the mode button under that. Fortunately, Vaperesso thought this one through and put the micro USB port is on the side allowing you to charge the unit while standing it upright. Something a lot of other mini MODs fail to do, so well done here. The overall build quality is superb, and the design is top-notch. To start with it comes with the Vaporesso-made Omni Board chip-set, which is a great performer across the board. The MOD's capable of hitting up to 80 watts of power and can handle resistances down to 0.15 ohms. In temperature control mode, you'll be able to work within a temp range of 280F to 600F (100C to 315C), and you can use Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Nickel coils. There is also a TCR mode with two programmable settings. Aside from VW and TC, you can also access Smart VW mode (which reads the atomizer and sets a safe range automatically), CCW (custom curve wattage), CCT (custom curve temperature), and bypass (which essentially turns the device into a mechanical mod). The modes can be activated via the dedicated Mode Button, which means you don't have to dive deep into the menu system. As great as this all sounds, I still managed to find a slight flaw, which may or may not be a big deal to you. I found that you can't adjust the wattage while in TC mode. I'm not particularly big on TC mode, but if I was, this would be a little annoying. Why so many companies fail to offer such a basic function is beyond me. But hey, I guess you can't always have it all! At least the firmware is upgrade-able. Who knows, maybe they'll add this feature in a future update. DISPLAY The display is your standard variety OLED screen, which I really like. It has sufficient brightness that is readable under sunlight, and displays the usual basic information you need at a glance. This includes your battery level, atomizer resistance, wattage or voltage, and power/temperature. BATTERY DETAILS Like most "mini" devices, the Tarot Nano is powered by a built-in battery. Unlike other mini devices, however, this mod has a very capable 2500mAh battery installed. How long your battery lasts depends on your wattage and how frequently you vape. When I used it moderately through the day I managed to get about a full day's usage without having to charge. Not bad by any means. Charging is done via the USB port, and fortunately, the device charges pretty fast. From a completely dead battery, you can reach 60% in five minutes, though it takes 40 minutes to reach 75%. And for a full charge you can expect to charge for around an hour and a half. Again, quite impressive. VECO TANK The Tarot Nano Kit comes with its own 22mm Veco Tank with a 2ml e-juice capacity. The flavor is very good and vapor production is decent. Swapping out the coils is also super easy and won't require you to drain the tank. You can easily change coils without spillage or leakage. I found the airflow adjustment to be a little tight, which can be a good thing since this means you won't easily adjust the airflow while in transit. The tank is also top fill, which is another plus for me. What keeps the tank from being perfect though is the non-adjustable 510 pin. Not a deal breaker for me, but this can cause some issues when the tank is used on a different mod. Finally, the drip tip does get hot if you chain vape. Again, not a major issue for me as I don't often chain vape, but I noticed it does get hotter than a lot of other tanks I vape on frequently. DISLIKES 23mm and up will have overhang - Due to the mod's size, atomizers 23mm and up will look awkward. With many of today's tanks being built larger than this, it has to be noted as a con! Tank Drip Tip Gets Hot - If you like to chain vape, be prepared for a this drip tip to get pretty darn warm! Non-adjustable 510 Pin - The tank might not work with other mods with deep 510 connectors LIKES Jam Packed with Features - For its size, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the amount of features it has Side USB Port - No need to lay the mod down while charging Great Design - How it looks and feels makes this compact device a pleasure to use Smart wattage - Great for beginners who are just starting out and don't know where to start Clicky Buttons - Gives a satisfying click every time you use it Dedicated Mode Button - Easy access to all the modes without needing to get lost in the menu system Bypass Function - Advanced users will enjoy the option to go full mech (not recommended for beginners) Tank has Good Flavor - For a kit tank, the Veca produces great flavor Easily Swap Coils - No spillage when changing coils means a better overall experience Tight Airflow Adjustment - Minimizes accidental adjustments while the mod is in your pocket or purse Top-Fill - Easy refilling on the fly SHOULD YOU GET THE TAROT NANO? For less than £50, the Tarot Nano Kit is a steal with all its features and functions. Whether you're a beginner or experienced vaper, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one. This has to be up there with one of the best mini mods I've owned.
