INTRO
A shisha pen is not your standard, everyday e-cig. Whereas e-cigarettes are more often used with the intention of weaning off tobacco, shisha products, like hookah, have a more casual, recreational feel.
The Ego Shisha CE5 Stick, made by London-based company Future Shisha, is more about the pleasure of the vape, and will be best suited to new vapers or casual vapers that would like an inexpensive back-up.
- Affordable mini-kit that’s a great introduction to vaping
- Realistic shisha flavors similar to hookah
- Customisable appearance with nine different battery colors available
- 1-year warranty and 30-day money-back guarantee
- More suitable for new & recreational vapers or as a back up
PACKAGING & DESIGN
The kit is fairly bare bones, and includes an atomiser, a battery available in 1 of 9 different colors, and a USB charger. The see-through plastic packaging allows you to see exactly what you’re getting before you open it.
As for the Ego Shisha CE5 Stick itself, I’d say you get what you pay for. It’s an inexpensive vape pen and feels it when compared to many others on the market, but I would say that it’s a good size, not too small or bulky feeling and has a nice grip.

VAPOR VOLUME
You’ll find that it will produce a very small amount of vapor – don’t expect to be cloud chasing with it! If you’re looking for a pen or any kind of e-cig that produces a lot of vapor you may want to consider something else.
The vapor produced by the CE5 is pretty much equivalent to the amount of smoke you’d exhale from a normal cigarette – maybe a little more if you inhale a little longer. For beginners and some casual vapers this will be just fine, but if you are a cloud chaser, you won’t be too impressed.
FUNCTIONALITY
I managed to put the Ego Shisha CE5 together in seconds, but keep in mind it is a very basic vape pen. It comes with clear instructions on the back and is super simple to use.
Simply fill the cartridge with the e-liquid of your choice being careful not to get any in the small center piece, screw it onto the battery, and you’re good to go.
There is a five button press to turn the device on and off, and you’ll need to press the battery to activate it as you vape.
This is easily one of the simplest ego pens I’ve ever used, which is another reason I think this is a great choice for you if you’re new to the world of vaping and would prefer not to use a cig-a-like style e-cig.
CLEAROMISERS
The tank of the CE5 Stick is an atomizer/clearomiser. It’s a welcome change from disposable shisha pens, as the cartridge is refillable instead of a one-and-done. The only slight downfall is that you can only get 1.6ml of e-liquid in it, which won’t suit heavy vapers. It’ll be just fine and should last you all day if you’re an entry-level vaper wanting to give vaping a try, and I found it extremely useful as a back up that I could carry around due to being fairly small.
BATTERY DETAILS
With an approximately 600-puff battery life, the CE5 should easily last throughout the day, or for several days with lighter use. I bought a spare battery because I vape quite regularly, and this meant I could charge one battery while I vaped with the other.
PRICE & SHIPPING CHARGES
At the time of writing, this kit was selling for £12, a 40% discount from the usual £20. Even at £20 I think this is worth the price.
In the UK, shipping is free if your order exceeds £25. You could pair up with a friend to order or add other products to hit that threshold, or just bite the bullet and pay the standard shipping fee of £3.45. The company estimates delivery within 1-3 days, which was pretty accurate for me. Mine arrived 2 days after placing the order, and I placed it late in the evening.
WARRANTY & GUARANTEE
The one-year warranty covers the charger and battery, but not the atomizer/clearomizer clearomiser. The clearomiser should last about two months and are very affordable at only £1.95 for a replacement.
If you’re unhappy with the product for any reason, you can take advantage of Future Shisha’s 30-day money-back guarantee. They have an excellent reputation for customer service so you should have no trouble with sending it back if you decide it’s not for you.
OVERALL PURCHASE SATISFACTION
If you’re already buying disposables a couple times a week, this will definitely save you money in the long run. Keep in mind that you’ll need to purchase e-liquid at an additional cost. It’s one of the least expensive kits on the market, and it’s good at what it does.
Since shisha pens appeal to a more niche audience, the CE5 doesn’t have hundreds of customer reviews. However, the quality outdoes the quantity, with users rating the stick an average of five stars with most customers mentioning the great taste, something I can vouch for!
The CE5 Shisha Stick is an okay choice for recreational hookah enthusiasts or casual smokers, but this one isn’t for me. It’s a decent pen to start with if you’re new to vaping and on a really low budget.
For some serious smokers, the CE5 has been described by users as a good first step into the vaping world, but it probably wont be your final destination.
