If you are looking to get into box mods, interested in a more portable vape, or an affordable way to quit smoking; the Istick by Eleaf is for you.
This little wonder packs a punch at 20W variable voltage, a small size and comes in 4 colors. The display is easy to read, and the buttons do not get under your fingers when you hold it.
The Istick is compatible with both RDA’s and tanks, and is very user friendly. Throw in the incredibly low cost and you have a box mod that is just too good to pass up. Interested? Well there’s more.
PACKAGING & DESIGN
The Istick comes in a white box with the Eleaf logo and a picture of the mod on the front. Nestled safely inside foam cushioning is the Istick mod, a charging cable, a 510 adapter and a wall charger.
The mod is available in 4 different colors; black, silver, blue and red (which really looks more magenta). Regardless of color, the mod features silver buttons and trimmings.
Due to size, this mod is suited to fit nicely in the hands and fits well into pockets and handbags. The Istick is made for portability and by sporting a USB rechargeable battery, it is light enough to not weigh you down.
The Istick’s design features a very sleek but stylish exterior and size that suits any situation and can go where you go. Unlike other box mods, this little vape wonder is not a fingerprint magnet.
Although it has a shine, it is not overly glossy allowing you to enjoy vaping without having to wipe your mod down every few seconds. The side features a small display screen that will tell you your battery life as well as the ohms of your atomizer and the watts and voltage used.
The buttons are large enough to be pressed, but out of the way enough that you don’t press them by accident. The power button sits up above to rest by your thumb, whereas two up and down arrows sit below to control the wattage on the device.

FUNCTIONALITY
For being a pocket sized vape, the Istick packs quite a punch. The mod is simple to power on and off with 5 quick taps of the power button. To adjust the wattage, you tap the arrow buttons at the bottom of the device.
For a quicker adjust, simply press and hold the up or down button to cause the device to speed through the wattage simply tap again to stop. For those that prefer voltage you can switch the two by clicking the power button three times.
All the settings can be seen on the OLED screen, from the ohms, to the battery power. Although smaller to accommodate the mods size; the screen is still bright, clear and easy to read.
BATTERY DETAILS
The Istick sports a 2200mAH battery, which is pretty nice power for such a small device. It features a USB charge port on the bottom of the device, which can be a little difficult to access, but with the ability to charge in less than 2 hours as well as being able to vape while charging is certainly a plus.
The mod’s battery on average lasts around 2-3 days on average with usual vaping, although use and wattage can affect it. The larger battery is also strong enough to continue to provide a strong vape up until it’s dying minute.
DISLIKES
For every up there is a down. Although the Eleaf released a nice starter mod, it does have its drawbacks as well.
Although this is a good price, you do get what you pay for. Unfortunately this mod is more of a temporary stepping stone and many said that this mod lasts for up to a year if not well cared for.
Although the wattage and voltage are strong, the Istick does have a few problems giving the most accurate reading, occasionally reading high or low with the Wattage or Ohms.
While the size is nice, it can also be a drawback for those with larger hands. Although the size is pleasant for many, for those with bigger grips might want to put this to the side as it will be dwarfed by comparison.
The ohm reader on this mod, although nice, is not the most accurate to build on although it can be done. This mod also does not subohm, but Eleaf did remedy this in their later builds the 30W and 50W models.
LIKES
If you are looking to quit smoking, or want an affordable starter model to get into vaping or box mods; this is a good one.
One of the biggest pluses is the price. The Istick boasts a fantastic little package for a low price. For it’s ability to last, quick charge times, and it’s power, this mod is very reasonable on the wallet.
The mods size is another high point in it’s repertoire. Not only loved for being easy to hold, this mod fits nicely into pockets and handbags for easy travel. The discreet size and light weight makes it easy to carry around and hold for long intervals such as at a club or event.
Power is key with this mod and it certainly delivers. Although 20W is certainly no powerhouse, the Istick does do a good job of output and paired with the battery it runs strong until it’s last puff.
CONCLUSION
Eleaf definitely did a good job with the Istick. They collaborated to get a good mod to suit the tastes and experience levels of the whole vaping community.
While this is a good entry level mod for beginners, or those who are looking to just quit smoking, more experienced vapers might get bored or feel that the Istick is inadequate to their needs.
I would definitely recommend those who are looking for a quick fix, or to quit smoking; but those who want more control and the ability to subohm, then look to the later 30W or 50W Istick models.
