The Series S Starter Kit is one of their recent releases and despite being far from perfect, the Series S has the potential to be a sleeper hit.
But what does this kit come with?
PACKAGING & DESIGN
The Series S comes in a tasteful, minimalist box. Inside, you’ll find the battery, a tank, two coils, a charger, and a user manual.
The mod itself is sleek and made from stainless steel and Pyrex glass, though the fire button is made of rubber.
This design choice detracts from the overall aesthetic. I think it would have been better if the button was made from the same material as the mod itself.
Nevertheless, the mod has an air of quality about it that is expected from Jac Vapor, and looks like it could withstand a lifetime of use.
Overall, the Series S is a quality made vape pen with a nice modern look and feel. Let’s take a closer look at it…

FUNCTIONALITY
Being a starter kit, I wouldn’t expect the Series S to have all the bells and whistles that other, more advanced mods have.
However, despite being branded as a starter kit, the Series S does have sub-ohm capabilities, and is able to use coils as low as 0.5 ohms.
I like this since it means beginners can use it and advance when comfortable into sub ohming without having to purchase a whole new kit.
The device has a 510 spring loaded connector, which is nice, ensuring the tank sits flush to the mod.
Since the Series S is not a variable device, operating it is dead simple.
The fire button activates the atomizer when you press it down, and it’s also used to lock the device by clicking it five times. Clicking the button another five times unlocks it.
There are two LED lights located at the side of the firing button which acts as a visual to let you know it is being used.
BATTERY DETAILS
The Series S comes with a built-in 900mAh battery which can be charged via micro USB.
The USB port is located at the lower part of the device instead of the very bottom so you can stand the mod upright while charging.
The capacity will be enough for you if you’re a moderate vaper.
But if you plan to use it regularly all day then you’ll need to either charge it once or twice a day or carry a spare battery.
It does support pass through charging, so you are able to vape while charging in the event that you do run out of battery without a spare.
TANK DETAILS
As a starter kit, the Series S comes with its own tank made of stainless steel and Pyrex glass.
It has an adjustable airflow with a capacity of 1.8ml.
Now, 1.8ml isn’t much at all and I found myself refilling the tank several times a day, but this is only because I was using it as my main device throughout the day to conduct these tests.
Usually I’d only use this kind of device as a back up as I tend to use larger mods.
The drip tip is removable, but it’s not your standard 510 drip tip so if you have your own preferred drip tip you won’t be able to throw it on this device.
Two coils are included in the kit, a o.5 ohm one for lung vaping, and a 1.0 ohm coil for mouth-to-lung vaping.
Installing the coil is fairly easy, as is refilling the tank.
The 1.0 ohm coil performed surprisingly well, producing vapor far more than I expected. The flavor wasn’t muted at all and the overall vape was pleasantly smooth.
As for the 0.5 ohm coil, the vapor was again, quite impressive for a 900mAh device. The flavor was good, though not as good as the 1.0 ohm coil.
The Series S is not built to be a high performance MOD, but the coils allow you to produce clouds that would rival some of the high performance MODs on the market.
DISLIKES
- Rubber Fire Button – From an aesthetic point of view, the rubber button just doesn’t work. Material should’ve matched the mod
- 900 mAh battery – Heavy users will find the battery capacity a bit on the low side. Expect multiple recharges in a day
- Non-510 drip tip – Though removable, the drip tip is device specific. You can’t use your favorite drip tip here

- Spring loaded 510 – A nice touch to ensure a flush fit for the tank
- Pass through charging – Ensures your vaping session is not interrupted while charging
- Quality build – As is expected from Jac Vapor, the build quality is superb
- Affordable – Yet not cheap (materials or craftsmanship)
- Sub-ohm capabilities – For a starter kit, a 0.5 ohm limit is impressive
- Simple to use – Even those who haven’t vaped before will be able to use this device with ease
- Flavor and vapor are great – For a starter kit, the flavor and vapor quality produced is astounding
SHOULD YOU GET THE SERIES S?
Despite the low battery capacity and other minor cons of the device, the Series S starter kit is not just great for beginners, it’s also well-suited to more advanced users looking for a simple back up.
The flavor and vapor quality is better than expected. A solidly built starter kit for a pretty darn good price.
