I know this Cubis Cuboid Mini isn’t a new device, but I’ve only just got my hands on one, and I thought I’d share my thoughts.
While it is a decent device, there have been a few issues about it that I and others have had.
We’ll look more closely at these issues throughout this review…
PACKAGING & DESIGN
The Cuboid Mini is an ergonomic, sleek looking device, which I’ve found really easy to use.
It’s also extremely portable and fits snugly in my pocket.
I doubt everyone will like the unique look, but I actually really like it.
It came with a range of different coils, a tank, battery, charging cable, s well as a couple of different tips.
The coils include a clapton coil head for those of you that prefer to vape at a lower wattage. There’s a notch coil head if you like vaping at higher wattages. And let’s not forget the stainless steel vertical coil head.
As if that’s not enough, you’ll also get an RBA head for you builders.
You will find that it has a bit of weight to it, and this is mostly due to the 2400mAh built-in battery it comes with.
Again, this is subjective. I like weighty devices, but some of you might prefer to have something more on the lighter side.

FUNCTIONALITY
The Cuboid Mini comes with a bunch of features including variable wattage mode, bypass mode, and temperature control for nickel, titanium and stainless steel.
It’ll work with resistances down to 0.1Ω in variable wattage or bypass mode. In TC mode it will go all the way down to 0.05Ω.
The menu system is pretty easy to learn and navigate.
You access it by clicking the power button three times, and this will allow you to do things such as change from power to temperature control mode.
DISPLAY
The display takes the form of an OLED screen, which glows a soft blue.
The initial display was a bit crowded with too much info. Thanfully they did offer a solution to this, which came with a firmware update.
The updated display was clean and well organised with the most important information much bigger than settings you don’t change all that often.
The button layout is simple, with a fire button and one left/right switch that you use to do everything you need.
It is relatively straightforward to negotiate changing the settings and the mode.
BATTERY DETAILS
One of the best things about the Cubis Cuboid Mini is the battery.
While it may be a little on the heavy side, the 2400mAh of capacity helps this baby last for quite a while, even at higher wattages and temperatures.
The battery features pass-through charging, which makes it great for those want constant access, and is a stylish rectangular shape that fits easily into the pocket.
It does take a while to get back to full charge, so be sure to have a back up device of some sort so you can vape while it charges.
DODGY TANK?
The 5ml tank is another intriguing aspect of the Cubis Cuboid Mini.
It’s a TFTA tank, or Top-fill Top-airflow. As a result it’s really easy to fill and change the coil. You simply unscrew the mouthpiece by the airflow, and you can fill up or swap coils.
One problem some have encountered is overfilling, which can lead to flooding and piping hot liquid firing into your mouth and throat.
This was especially problematic with the black model, as the max fill line isn’t easy to spot.
That being said, if you suppress the urge to be too aggressive with your fill, you should avoid this becoming a problem.
DISLIKES
While the Cubis Cuboid Mini has a lot to offer, it also leaves much to be desired.
- Overfilling the tank can cause nasty spitback
- The placement of the fire button on the side of the battery means that if you don’t turn it off it will, at some point, start to go off in your pocket, which can lead to some embarrassing situations
- Another issue comes as a result of the TFTA design, which is that you must occasionally use a tiny tool to adjust even smaller screws inside the tank to make sure it is attaching and aligning properly. Failure to do so can result in inconsistent results, which is not something you expect from a device at this price point.
- Problems with things getting loose seems to be the biggest issue users have with the Cubiod. The same thing can happen to the coil or the mouthpiece which houses the connection from the coil to the power source.This tended to happen more if I was walking around or doing something, but the inconsistent performance started to grate on my nerves after a while.
LIKES
The Cubis Cuboid Mini offers a lot of features and innovative design at a reasonable price.
- Tank is easy to operate and minimises spills and leaking. In fact, the device didn’t have a dripping problem one time while I used it
- Battery Life is Excellent
- Nice Large OLED Display
- Tank takes a wide range of coilsincluding Joytech’s Notch Coil
- Produces dragon-level clouds on the exhale when using the notch coil, but, as is necessarily the case, became rather thirsty as a result
SHOULD YOU GET THE CUBIS CUBOID?
The Cubis Cuboid Mini is a good device if you’re an experienced vaper on a budget. It’s not the tech that most advanced vapers or novices would be looking for.
Its features and power make it incredibly appealing, but the poor placement of the fire button, and the issues with having to constantly tweak the alignment make the device more trouble than it’s worth for most users.
As a result, the Cubis Cuboid Mini gets a solid B grade, good, but not great.
