Kangertech Subvod Mega TC Kit Review

Kanger Subvod Mega TC Red

With so many different brands and devices hitting the vaping market on a seemingly daily basis it it’s getting tougher to keep up with what’s good and what is likely to be a waste of money.

In my experience, Kangertech have always been on the reputable side of the scale, and have carved out a pretty nice niche for themselves in the vapourizer market.

If you are on the lookout for an all-in-one vape pen that delivers great quality at an affordable price, then this may well be for you.

Let’s see what you get…

PACKAGING & DESIGN

The packaging is pretty standard with a smooth red and black design.

The back of the box shows a list of what comes with the kit and the authenticity label.

Opening the box is a little tricky, as it slides out from the side, and the contents are wedged in pretty tightly.

I went with the red version of the Mega TC, but it also comes in black, white, and stainless steel.

Inside you’ll find a battery, tank, USB charging cable, and a spare coil. It’s a bit bigger than the normal pen-style e-cigs, but still small enough to carry around easily.

Overall the design and size has easily won me over.

FUNCTIONALITY

One of the first things I noticed is that it comes with a little card insert that shows you the perfect settings for the device.

This is all based on the type of coil and the VG content of the liquid you are using.

A great feature if you’re new to vaping.

This has been designed to ensure that you get the best flavor regardless of the liquid you use, and I have to say that it’s a pretty handy little addition to the kit.

The vapourizer only has a single button to deal with, which makes life incredibly easy.

Like so many other units of its kind, it takes 5 clicks to power it on and off. When it’s turned on you’ll notice an LED light around the fire button.

The green color shows that you are using a nickel coil in TC mode.

You can easily switch to wattage control by clicking the fire button 3 more times, which will change the LED color red.

You can easily switch between the round SSOCC coils and the square OCC coils in this tank, as it is compatible with both.

I noticed a little bit of a different flavor sensation depending on which one I chose. I didn’t notice much difference in vapor production with the TC and wattage modes.

There is no way to change the power settings, but flavor and vapor production I got was more than adequate.

Now for the tank…

BATTERY DETAILS

The 2300mAh battery is a sturdy unit, but I didn’t manage to get a day of vaping on a full charge.

Part of this is due to the fact that I tend to vape quite regularly, but the battery life wasn’t bad.

If I had vaped it moderately through the day I would have probably got through most if not all of the day in a single charge.

Re-charging it is breeze and can be done using the supplied USB charger. The slot for the charger sits on the side of the battery, close to the power button.

TOP TANK MINI DETAILS

The tank is a top-fill, hence the name, and it holds a rather impressive 4ml of juice.

As far as changing the coil goes, you need to unscrew the tank from the bottom to gain access to the current coil.

The mouthpiece is easily removable, and the tank features air vents that can be used to control the amount of airflow.

Overall, its a fantastic tank. From the build to the flavor and vapor production I have nothing much to complain about.

DISLIKES

  • Notable to change the temperature or wattage settings
  • The side sliding package design can be a little tricky
  • May be a little too basic for the moreveteran vapers
  • 2300mAh Battery could improved

LIKES

  • Great price point
  • Larger than many eGO style vapourizers, but still portable
  • Easy to use out of the box
  • Comes with the excellent Top Tank Mini
  • Use in Wattage or TC setting

SHOULD YOU GET THE SUBVOD MEGA?

If you are looking for a solid starting vapourizer at a reasonable price point, you will be hard pressed to find much better than this.

Kangertech have been around for a while, and are one of the most trusted names in the industry.

There is a lot to like about this unit, from it sleek, highly portable design, to the quality of the vapor and flavor that it delivers.

If there is a downside, I’d have to go with the lack of control in terms of temperature and wattage.

Otherwise, there’s nothing much to complain too much about.
