INTRO Aspire has long been on the scene when it comes to vaping, and many vapers have started their journey into sub ohm vaping with one if their numerous products. With so many tanks in their range, not every tank is going be right for what you're looking for. This beckons the question, which is the best Aspire Tank for you? To help you answer this question, we dive deeper into 12 of their most popular tanks to date. These include: Nautilus Tank Clearomizer Nautilus X Nautilus 2 Nautilus Mini BVC Tank Clearomizer Atlantis Tank Atlantis 2 Atlantis Mega Atlantis EVO Cleito Cleito 120 Triton 2 Triton Mini Tank The Nautilus Tank Clearomizer from 2014 is predominantly a mouth to lung tank. This 22mm tank comes with a 1.8ohm coil. The Nautilus Tank Clearomizer was one of the first tanks to contain an adjustable air flow system, which allows 4 different air flow options that range from being super tight to gradually getting airier as you open the ring. It stands quite tall at 84mm, and while fairly basic look-wise, it's built really well. The 1.8ohm pre made coil comes as standard, and it’s the only coil in the box. It produces great flavor, but as you would expect from an above ohm coil, the vapor production isn’t ground breaking. There are other purchasable coils for this, a 1.6ohm version and a 0.7ohm that has been released more recently. PROS: Adjustable airflow system allows customization for the best vape for you Ideal for an MTL vaper Massive 5ml juice capacity CONS: Bottom fill Very Basic compared to more recent tanks Only one coils in box Is the Nautilus Tank Clearomizer a good fit for you? This tank would be absolutely perfect for you if you’re just getting into vaping and want a similar draw as you get from a cigarette. It’s a simple device that doesn’t take a lot of knowledge to set up and start vaping. It has been around for a few years now and there are more advanced MTL tanks on the market, but it's still a really nice, simple tanks that requires very little knowledge to set up and start vaping. 1. ASPIRE NAUTILUS TANK CLEAROMIZER 2. ASPIRE NAUTILUS X The Nautilus X is still an above ohm tank, meaning you can't sub ohm with it, but it does still take a step up from the Nautilus Tank Clearomizer. It’s fully TPD compliant, so only has a 2ml tank capacity, and has top adjustable air flow and a top filling system. As this is an above ohm tank, Aspire are marketing this as the peak when it comes to chasing flavor. The Nautilus X is a 22mm tank standing at 45mm. It comes with 2 coils in the box - pre-installed 1.8ohm U-Tech system coil which takes the airflow from above, and, as the name suggests, feeds down through one coil and then back up through another when you draw on it. It’s a system that has been widely adopted by many other sub ohm top air flow tanks since. The recommended wattage is 18-22 watts so the 2ml of e-liquid should last longer than you'd expect if you're used to sub ohm vaping. The other coil in the box is the 1.5ohm version, and, as far as I’m aware, there is no sub ohm option to this tank. PROS: The U-Tech coil system is great for flavor Top fill 4 different color options Good for stealth vaping CONS: No sub ohm coil option Is the Nautilus X a good fit for you? This tank is again perfect for you if you're still trying to kick the cigarettes and are looking for the same experience from a tank as you get from smoking. It's also good if you want a much stealthier vape. The U-Tech coil system helps to produce good flavor. Before you make any decisions about whether to get this or not you may want to take a look at their Nautilus 2 first, which we'll be looking at next... 3. NAUTILUS 2 The Nautilus 2 is a fantastic looking, fully TPD compliant tank that looks like something out of the future. The housing that encases the glass tank is available in 4 different colors, each having a circular viewing window so you can see the level your juice is at. This is still a mouth to lung tank, but includes a 0.7ohm coil – usually sub ohm coils are used for direct to lung style vaping, which leads me to believe that the Nautilus 2 bridges the gap between above and sub ohm vaping. The 0.7ohm coil is pre-installed, and rated between 18w and 23w. The 1.8ohm coil, the second coil that comes as standard with the Nautilus 2, is rated between 10w and 14w. The beauty of all the nautilus coils is that they are all interchangeable with each Nautilus product. PROS: Top fill Excellent flavor Adjustable air flow with 5 different options Comes in 4 colors CONS: 2ml juice capacity (okay for MTL vaping) Changing the coil can be a little complicated for beginners Is the Nautilus 2 a good fit for you? This tank is pretty much the same as the Nautilus x with a few improvements and a different, improved look. It would again be suited to novices, or if you're still smoking and want a reliable first tank. NAUTILUS MINI BVC TANK CLEAROMIZER As the name suggests, the Nautilus Mini BVC Tank Clearomizer is just a smaller version of the Nautilus Tank Clearomizer, adapted to become TPD compliant. The BVC stands for a bottom vertical coil, the same system used in its big brother. As with the bigger version, the airflow is fully adjustable, ranging from a hole 0.9mm in diameter to 1.8mm. The mini tank comes with a single 1.8ohm coil and produces wonderful flavor, but as with the standard version, the vapor production is nothing to write home about. PROS: Excellent flavor More compact than the original Good for mouth to lung and direct lung inhales CONS: Only comes with one coil 2ml juice capacity Can be hard to see which airhole you're set to unless you look closely Is the Mini BVC a good fit for you? This tank would be best for those of you that would be considering the original Nautilus, but want something a little more compact. Other than that, I have no idea why you would buy this over the original. 5. ASPIRE ATLANTIS TANK The Atlantis tank was Aspire’s first foray into the world of sub ohm tanks. Considered by many at the time as the one that set the bar, the Atlantis utilizes the same bottom vertical coil system as the Nautilus range, but with 0.5ohm coils and a less tight drip tip, designed for those of you who prefer direct to lung hits. The 0.5ohm coil is rated between 20w and 30w, and combines great flavor and great cloud production, a feat that most tanks that have come after have aimed to achieve. The Atlantis comes with one 0.5ohm coil pre-installed with one spare. PROS: Wider bore drip tip Fully adjustable double sided airflow Comes with spare glass CONS: Top fill Only 2 coil options Is the Atlantis a good fit for you? This tank is best for those of you who are interested in moving from mouth to lung vaping, to direct to lung hits. It’s the next logical step for you if you’ve completely kicked the cigarettes and no longer require the same type of experience as smoking. If you struggle to find anywhere that stocks them as they've been around for a while now, have a look at the Atlantis 2, which we'll take a look at next. 6. ASPIRE ATLANTIS 2 The Atlantis 2 is the 3ml juice capacity version of the original, but with an improved air flow system, new sub ohm coils and an even wider drip tip. In essence, it’s a much better version that builds on everything that was good about the Atlantis, and makes everything work much better. The Atlantis 2 has top and bottom airflow control, is a 22ml tank and stands at just a shade over 70mm tall. It’s fairly tall, but with only 3ml juice capacity, is very slender. The Atlantis 2 comes with one 0.3ohm coil and a 0.5ohm coil as standard, and there is a 1.0ohm coil to buy as well. The 0.3ohm coil is rated between 70w and 80w, much better for you if you’ve moved on from being a beginner vaper and are looking for something with a bit more bite. The 0.5ohm coil is rated between 30w and 40w. PROS: 510 drip tip Improved all round air flow 3 different coil options CONS: Quit a tall tank Is the Atlantis 2 a good fit for you? This tank is much better than the original Atlantis. It would be a good fit for you if you’re considering moving on from mouth to lung vaping to sub ohm vaping. 7. ASPIRE ATLANTIS MEGA Now, when you create a products that's generally deemed as just an 'ok' product, you'd usually try and improve on it, which is exactly what Aspire did with the Atlantis 2. Aspire decided to take this a step further and make even more improvements on their popular Atlantis 2, which resulted in the Mega tank. It’s essentially the same tank but with a 5ml juice capacity, and I've found it very hard to find anything I don't like about it. The Mega comes with an option of three coils; the 0.3ohm, 0.5ohm and the 1.0ohm bottom vertical coils that we’ve become accustomed to with the Atlantis products. PROS: 3 coil options 5ml juice capacity Excellent balance between flavor and vapor production CONS: None that I can think of Is the Mega a good fit for you? This a tank you'll want to give some serious consideration if you're looking for a good sub ohm tank with good flavor production and a reasonable amount of juice capacity. It takes everything that is good with the 2, such as the improved bottom and added top airflow and the larger drip tip and the selection of coils. I don't think it's worth upgrading from the Atlantis 2 if you already own it, but I would recommend it if you're moving up from the original Atlantis if you manage to find anyone stocking it. 8. ASPIRE EVO TANK The fourth modification in the Atlantis range, the EVO is a modified TPD compliant version of the Atlantis range, with a new, different coil. The Atlantis EVO comes with a 0.4ohm coil, rated between 40w and 50w, and the 0.5ohm coil that the rest of the Atlantis range utilizes. As well as the new coil, Aspire has once again improved the air flow for the EVO and now uses double wicking efficiency in the new coils. This means the flavor is greatly enhanced, and the cloud production is also much better. PROS: Better airflow More coil options Better looking than most other Atlantis tanks CONS: 2ml tank capacity Is the EVO a good fit for you? I don't think the EVO is a tank you'd want to choose over most other Atlantis tanks, but it's not to say it's not a good tank. It is actually pretty good. But is it completely necessary? Probably, considering all the new regulations that are going to limit the juice capacity. It's also nice to see the airflow improved and a few more coil options. If you already have an Atlantis, you won't need this. 9. ASPIRE CLEITO TANK The Cleito range is Aspire’s first truly sub ohm tank. And boy is it a beauty. It’s probably the most advanced of all the Aspire range and is still probably the one that sets the bar for all Aspire products. The Cleito is a 22mm tank standing at 58mm with a 3.5ml juice capacity and a range of 3 different sub ohm coils. The Cleito comes in black or stainless steel. The coils for the Cleito have been improved from previous versions. The coils available are a 0.2ohm rated at 55w – 70w, a 0.4ohm, rated at 40w – 60w, and a SS316L 0.4ohm coil rated at 55w – 65w. Personally, I prefer the 0.4ohm coils at around 50-60w. I found that the SS316L coil was best at a temperature between 450-530 Fahrenheit. PROS: 3 coil option, one of which supports SS316 temperature control Great size, even better with the Fat Boy 5ml Pyrex tube (must be bought separately) Comes with spare glass RTA Adapter is available as another optional extra Price of these are really low as are replacement coils Coils last for plenty of time Easy to dismantle and clean CONS: This tank drinks juice like there's no tomorrow Is the Cleito a good fit for you? The Cleito has been my favorite Aspire tank for over a year now. It was one of the first sub-ohm tanks that produced exceptional flavor, and I still own and use two of them. It's just that good. Whether you;'re looking for your first sub-ohm tank or an upgrade from an existing tank, you'll want to give this one some serious thought. The option to use it as an RTA makes it a viable option for you if you like to build your own coils. It's one of the few tanks I recommend to just about anyone I know. Feel free to check out my full review of the Cleito here. 10. ASPIRE CLEITO 120 The daddy of all Aspire tanks, the Cleito 120 is definitely aimed at high wattage vapers and cloud chasers alike. Called the 120 because the coils can handle 120 watts, the Cleito 120 comes with a 0.16ohm coil rated between 100w – 120w. The Cleito 120 is a 25mm tank, standing at 58mm with a 4ml juice capacity. The 0.16ohm coil puts emphasis on great cloud production, more heat in the vape and the most intense flavor possible. PROS: Nice adjustable air flow variants Excellent coil performance CONS: 4ml juice capacity isn't near enough. It goes through juice faster than the original Cleito due to vaping at higher wattage's, and the original Cleito drank plenty of juice at 50-60 watts. Will definitely need an extension for this one! Coils take a long time to break in Top cap can be difficult to grip and unscrew Is the Cleito 120 a good fit for you? If you have the original Cleito and you're happy with vaping at around 30-60 watts, you won't need this. You have to accept that you'll use a lot of e-liquid with this. If you thought the original Cleito liked to drink juice, you may be in for a little bit of a shock with this one. Overall, a good tank for cloud chasers that like a high wattage vape and prefer pre-built coils. 11. ASPIRE TRITON 2 The Triton 2 is the most versatile in the Aspire range. It can accommodate 5 different coils from a temperature controlled special 0.15ohm version, through the standard 0.3ohm, 0.4ohm and 0.5ohm that we’ve becomes accustomed to with Aspire’s products, to an above ohm 1.0ohm coil, making it a suitable tank for vapers that prefer both a mouth to lung vape and direct lung inhale. The Triton 2 is a 22.5mm tank, standing at 67mm with a 3ml juice capacity. It’s made of stainless steel with a Pyrex glass tube and comes with a 510 interchangeable drip tip. PROS: Variety of 5 different coils to choose from Top fill Excellent flavor and vapor production CONS: Limited with color choice Quite a large tank to carry around Is the Triton 2 a good fit for you? This tank is designed for those of you that are versatile with your vaping habits. If you like to go from a direct lung inhale to mouth to lung or vice versa, this is going to suit you. Overall, quite an impressive tank. 12. ASPIRE TRITON MINI TANK The Triton Mini is the TPD compliant version of the Triton 2. It’s a 20mm tank, standing at 60mm tall with a 2ml juice capacity. The Triton Mini is available in 3 different versions, the stand out being a copper color. This tank is also 510 drip tip compatible, so adds that extra customization. It can take 3 different coils; a 0.15 Nickel coil designed for temperature controlled vaping, a 1.2ohm kanthal coil and a 1.8ohm Clapton coil, the two latter coils better for a tighter, mouth to lung vape. PROS: Several color options 510 drip tip compatible CONS: Tank size is a bit on the small side 2ml juice capacity This would make a good entry-level tank if you're new to vaping. Like the Triton 2, it would also suit you if you like both mouth to lung and direct lung inhale vaping techniques. CONCLUSION The Aspire range of tanks is full and wide ranging. Their tanks are all made to a high quality and performance is more often than not above expectations. For me, it’s hard to look past the Cleito and Cleito 120 mainly due to the good flavor I get from their coils. I don't tend to chase clouds so I'm quite happy with the standard Cleito, but I do enjoy using the 120 every now and then. Whatever your preferences are, I don't think you'll be displeased with any of these Aspire tanks. Which Aspire tank do you prefer and why?
