Innokin iTaste 134 Mini Kit Review

Innokin Itaste 134 Mini Kit

After taking user feedback on the iTaste 134 into consideration, Innokin released a “mini” version of the device to help more people feel comfortable using it.

Although it’s certainly an improvement on its gargantuan iTaste 134 parent, it’s still not meant to look discreet, and it probably won’t fit comfortably in a pocket.

However, if you like solidly built MODs and don’t mind toting around the carry case, or want a good-quality personal vapourizer for at-home use, this may just be for  you.

ITASTE 134 MINI MOD 18500

First of all, despite the “mini” in its title, if you prefer your personal vaporizers to skew towards the smaller side, you can rule this Innokin iTaste out right now. The stainless steel device measures about six inches and has some serious heft to it.

If you like to customize your vape you’ll be half-pleased with the Innokin iTaste 134 mini, as it features variable wattage but no variable voltage.

The wattage only varies from 6.5 to 12.5 watts, though, adjustable in 1-watt increments via a number-marked rotational wheel; compared to other similarly-priced personal vaporizer units on the market, that’s not a big range.

Voltage will automatically adapt to whatever tank and battery you’re using, though the maximum output voltage is 6.0V.

If you like to monitor your settings, you won’t be able to do so with precision, as the MOD has no display screen. Instead, you’ll have to go by a system of LED lights; an indicator light on the switch will show red, yellow, or green for battery life, and a similar system applies for voltage.

ICLEAR X.I. GLASS BDC CLEAROMISER

The iClear X.I is an attractive, ultra-modern clearomizer with a capacity of just over 3ml. The tank is fitted with 2.1 ohm bottom dual coils, which give a pleasantly low resistance, and can handle coils as low as 1.2 ohms.

Like most personal vapourizers of this caliber, the device does come with a 510/eGo connector, so you can mix and match compatible tanks.

METAL TUBE FOR 18350 BATTERY

The default MOD fits 18500 batteries, but you can switch it out for this tube if you like.

Note that a battery itself is not included (for either the 18500 tube or this one), so you’ll need to factor in an extra $5-$10 for one, and a charger if you don’t already own one.

BEAUTY RING

Use the beauty ring to make your device work better aesthetically. Without the ring, the tube and tank appear ill-fitted together, but the beauty ring makes it snug and seamless, as well as catching any leaking liquid.

LUXURY BOX

The latched box is great for keeping the iTaste safe and away from dust/liquid/pets/etc. Components nestle inside soft, foam/suede-like material.

PRICE & SHIPPING CHARGES

I think £99 is a little steep for this MOD kit when you consider everything it doesn’t have: no battery, no charger, no e-liquid, no variable voltage, comparatively low max wattage…

That’s not to say that it’s a bad device, just that there are equally good kits that do cover all the bases, for the same price or less. (Also, Innokin only has a 90-day limited warranty on their personal vaporizers, which isn’t comforting when you’re paying this much.)

Within the UK, orders over £20.00 ship for free, but this is only 2nd class postage. If you want to go first class it will cost you £3.25 or you can go for next day Special Delivery for £5.79.

International shipping charges are determined by yoru location so you’ll need to contact them if you’re outside of the UK.

OVERALL PURCHASE SATISFACTION

I’m not taken by this MOD. It doesn’t fill me with confidence knowing that many people reported that their device died in six months or less, and the lack of full warranty makes this a major concern.

It also lacks too much for the money, and you can get so much more from a MOD for a lot less money if you shop around. The Innokin iTaste 134 Mini is a well-built mod, but its size, price point, and limited warranty might make you think twice.
