SNOWWOLF MINI PLUS INTRO One of the more popular "serious" mods today is the Snowwolf by Laisimo. It is powerful, sturdy, and a beautiful mod inside and out. Coming at the heels of its most popular product, Laisimo has introduced the Snowwolf Mini Plus. Essentially a scaled down version of its bigger brother, though not as powerful. However, just because it's tiny doesn't mean it's puny. Here's what you get inside... PACKAGING & DESIGN When you open the box, you'll find the Mini Plus inside a small translucent bag. You also get a small tank with an SS316 installed, a spare Ni200 coil, a USB cable, a pack of spare O-rings and extra drip tip, a Manual, and a warranty card. Unfortunately, no spare glass for the tank is included. The mod is pretty small measuring at 68.5mm x 43mm x 24mm. It looks and feels a whole lot like its bigger brother, which is a good thing. There's 510 connector on top with a spring-loaded pin. All atomizers sit flush to the mod, though those with diameters of 24mm above will have some overhang. On one side of the brushed metal part of the mod, you'll find the firing and adjustment buttons. The other side is left blank. The back of the device is a blank glass panel, while the front houses the OLED display and the Snowwolf logo. On the bottom, there is the USB charging port, some vent holes, and an on/off switch (which I prefer over having to click the fire button 5 times). All buttons are clicky and seated well without rattle. In all, the Snowwolf Mini is a well-designed, sturdy mod that feels premium in the hand. Its big brother must be proud. The default is set to Variable Wattage mode. To switch to Temperature Control, simply press both adjustment buttons. Wattage can be set in 0.1W increments from 5W to 80W, while temperatures can be set in C or F. If you press both buttons longer, you are taken to the coil options, where you choose between Power, Ti, Ni, SS, and a pair of TCR modes. To lock the device, you simply press the fire button together with the "+" button. You do the same to unlock it. When you press the fire button and "-" button, you open the base resistance option. It acts similar resistance lock found in other mods, more flexible. There has been no firing delays with my mini plus. The menu system is simple to use and navigate, and you won't feel lost easily. The only negatives I could find is that it doesn't auto detect temperature control and it's not firmware upgrade-able. Since the MOD is set up and working perfectly well the firmware upgrades shouldn't be necessary, but it's a nice option to have just in case any problems arise down the line. DISPLAY The OLED screen is of standard size and shows the information you'd expect. This includes the battery level, the power/temperature, a puff timer, the resistance, voltage, and a small reminder whether you are set to power mode or otherwise. While clear most of the time, it can be a little hard to read outdoors in sunlight. If the screen was a little brighter it would have been perfect. BATTERY DETAILS The Mini Plus is powered by a built-in 3000mAh battery which can only be recharged via USB since it is non-removable. Having a built-in battery is subjective. Some of you will like it while some of you wont. At any rate, the battery's capacity is good and lasts a good while in between charges. SNOWWOLF MINI PLUS MR5 TANK DETAILS The tank that comes with the Mini Plus is called the MR5 tank, and it performs well for its size. I got no spit back, and the installed coil has pretty good flavor. The flavor with the spare coil wasn't great so I'd recommend using the coil that comes installed. While the inclusion of a tank is nice, especially if you don't already own a tank, I prefer to stick to my own ones. DISLIKES Price - The price is a little on the high-end side, but do remember that you are paying for quality 24mm Atomizer Overhang - Using 24mm and above atomizers will result in awkward overhangs Built-in Battery - Despite the healthy mAh rating, being built-in means the battery can only be charged via USB (a con for some, a pro for others) Dim Screen - The OLED screen can be hard to read under sunlight, but it's by no means impossible to read outdoors LIKES 3000mAh battery - Despite being built-in, 3000mAh is a good capacity for a battery, even larger than most 18650's in the market Portable - The Mini Plus is very small and is highly portable Menu system - Easy to use and navigate, the menu system won't be a source of headaches here Temperature control works well - It's nice to have TC in a small mod, even better if it works well On/Off switch - An easier alternative to the usual 5-click function in other mods Flush atomizers - The 510 spring loaded pin works well enough that all atomizers I've tried sat flush to the mod Clicky buttons - A sign of a quality mod is the presence of clicky buttons. No Firing Delays. Nothing frustrates me more than firing a device that takes a short moment to fire after you've pressed the button. Fortunately I haven't had this problem with the Mini Plus. Overall Premium Feel - Solidly built, the Mini Plus feels like a premium mod and is the best mini mod I've tried so far SHOULD YOU GET THE SNOWOLF MINI PLUS? Though a little more expensive that most other mini mods, I'd say that the Snowwolf Mini Plus is worth the money due to the quality build and features at hand. From the premium feel to the flawless performance, there's not much to nitpick here. It's the best mini mod I've used so far, and I'd recommend it to anyone that was a fan of the Snowwolf 200W.
