SNOWWOLF 200W MINI PLUS INTRO Off the heels of the success of the original SnowWolf, Laisimo releases the SnowWolf 200W Plus. Maintaining much of the original aesthetics of its predecessor, the SnowWolf Plus adds an upgraded chip with better temperature control, a new touch button feature, and much more. Is it a worthy successor? Or should owners of the original pass on this one? PACKAGING & DESIGN Taking the device out of the box, you’ll notice it looks a lot like the original SnowWolf. Upon closer inspection, you’ll also see that there are some cosmetic differences. What remains is the classic trim frame and glass panels. This is apparently a move by Laisimo to maintain its previous similar looks. What's changed are the added touch buttons used to adjust the power. The fire button remains the same, a tactile, clicky, affair, which makes sense. The new SnowWolf 200W is also much more portable and ergonomic than its predecessor, but are the functions better or worse? Let's see... You can upgrade the device to be able to put out a maximum 235 watts (not that you'll need it). Wattage range is from 10 to 200 Watts if you don't upgrade, and the temperature range is from 200 to 600F. The chipset, which was developed in conjunction with Sigelei, performs well and has temperature control with support for Nickel, Titanium, and Stainless steel coils. You'll also find a DIY mode with two memory slots to save your settings. This gives you the ability to fine tune and save your preferred vape. The usual suite of protections are also in place, such as reverse battery, voltage, low resistance, short-circuit, and overheat protection. The Micro USB port can be used for charging as well as upgrading the firmware, but for charging we always recommend an external charger for faster and safer charging. DISPLAY The display is large and shows the usual array of information such as battery level, power/temperature, voltage output, among others. While the screen looks great, the brightness can be improved. Reading the display under sunlight can be a trying exercise. Because of the new touch features, you should also remember to lock the screen after using it to avoid accidentally changing the settings while in use or in transit. BATTERY DETAILS To be able to output 235 watts, the SnowWolf 200W Plus needs serious power. Two 18650 batteries (not included) are needed to get the device working. For a dual battery mod, the unit is still compact and portable. Battery life will depend on your usage and the quality of batteries you use. , but when vaped at around 40 to 60 watts, the device can last a full day or so. I was vaping regularly at around 40 to 60 watts and easily managed a full days usage. DISLIKES Fingerprint magnet - The glass panels may look cool, but it attracts smudges and fingerprints like crazy Sensitive Touch Controls - Remember to lock the screen so you won't accidentally change your settings Screen not Bright Enough - Nice screen, but not bright enough to use comfortably under direct sunlight Little Expensive - Many mods that do more cost less LIKES Design - The new SnowWolf Plus retains the sleek and smart design of its predecessor Size - For a dual battery mod, the SnowWolf Plus is still compact and ergonomic Temperature Control - Works well and is accurate Battery Life - Will last you a full day or so of moderate vaping Clicky Buttons - No rattles and clicky buttons show the amount of care in the mod's production SHOULD YOU GET THE SNOWWOLF 200W PLUS? While the Laisimo SnowWolf 200W Plus is an okay device, it lacks the excitement of the original. I think it’s a little on the expensive side too for what it does. There are many devices out there that do more yet cost less. On the whole it’s a pretty nice MOD (I was really excited to get it). When I received it I, got a little disappointed at some of the fundamental issues, such as the touch sensitive controls that are triggered unless you keep locking it. Really annoying. The finger prints haven’t bothered me much as this was expected just like the previous model. But the other cons would need to change to make this a worthwhile purchase, especially at the asking price of around £70.00. I should point out that it is possible to get it for around £50 - £60 from Gearbest. The only downside with this is that you'll more than likely have to wait around 2-4 weeks for it to arrive.
